My name is Matthew Sockolov. I am passionate about the dharma, meditation, and working with others. I have a regular sitting practice myself, and am an active member of several local sanghas and lead Sonoma Insight. Meditation has become the foundation for my life. I regularly sit on silent retreats, attend dharma talks, and work one-on-one with my meditation teacher.
Since 2011, I have owned and operated One Mind Dharma, a business focusing on Buddhist meditation and its application in daily life. I provide daily guided meditations, write Daily Mindfulness emails, and host online meditation groups. I am a certified teacher, graduating the Community Dharma Leader teacher training program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, one of the most well-respected insight centers in the West. CDL is a training program for Buddhist meditation coaches and teachers, and my mentoring teacher is Noah Levine. Having personally dealt with addiction, mental illness, and legal troubles, I can relate to many challenges you may be facing.
I may be found meditating at Sonoma Insight, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, or Wat Metta Monastery. I lead groups with Sonoma Insight, in Marin County, at local treatment centers and sober livings, and online.
If you would like to talk about one-on-one coaching, please send me a message. I’m also happy to answer any questions you have about meditation in general. Just head on over to the Contact Me page.
